Vision Bases Jigsaw Assembly

In this project we developed a system for assembling a jigsaw puzzle given as a scanned image of the scattered puzzle pieces.

[With Atilla Kiraly].

Visual Lab Surveillance

We developed a system that could determine visually, how many people were currently working in the Computer Lab in Pond.

[With Atilla Kiraly].

Korean Character Recognition System

Development of an optical character recognition system for printed Korean characters.

[With Bart Paulhamus].

Image Filtering - Evaluation of Image Restoration Algorithms

Implementation and comparison of various image restoration algorithms.

[With Chunwei Wu and Kai-Zhi Tang, March/5/1999].

Minimum Description Length based Image Segmentation

Implementation and evaluation of an image segmentation algorithm based on the MDL principle.

[With Chunwei Wu and Kai-Zhi Tang].

Robust Appearance based Object Recognition using Genetic Algorithms

Development of a appearance based object recognition system that was robust towards clutter and occlusion using a GA apporach.

Camera Calibration

Implementation of a camera calibration procedure based on the R. Tsais work. The focus of the work was the design of a calibration target that an algorithm could detect and localize with least possible efford while being insensitive to scale and rotation.

Augmented Reality

Development of a simple Augmented Reality system on a SGI Onyx using a semi-transparent head mounted display and Flock-of-Birds magnetic trackers for our Vision lab.
