We have reached the final day of the VLPR 2012 Program. We are especially grateful for the teleconferenced speakers Takeo Kanade and Margrit Betke, for delivering excellent talks, and shifting their schedule to be with us in real time. The student project proposals demonstrated the cross disciplinary research goals of the summer school, and showed dedicated effort over the last several days. We would like to thank all VLPR 2012 speakers and participants for a completing a successful program.

We are near the end of the VLPR 2012 program. Small teams have formed, and proposals for cross-disciplinary projects in the works. Teams will make presentations tomorrow before closing ceremonies.

July 27, 2012

After the end of the program today, there will be a icebreaker and speed networking session, called "Speed Dating for Scientists and Engineers". One of the goals for this event is to form small project teams for the next two days. All attendees are invited and encouraged to participate.

The day trip to Suzhou was a great success. We visited the famous gardens, sampled some local teas, and visited a water town with an elaborate Buddhist temple. Please contribute any personal photos to the photos page.

We are now almost at the midpoint of the program. Please keep up your steady stream of questions! They really encourage the core value in this summer school, the intermingling of biology and computer vision. As a reminder for all attendees, the bus for the Suzhou Day Trip leaves at 7:00 AM tomorrow.
